About Me

Welcome to Naturally Incandescent!

My name is Candice and I am a Registered Holistic Nutritionist and founder of Naturally Incandescent.

I have loved being in the kitchen since high school and whether I am cooking or baking, I find joy in sharing my creations with others. My original plan was to study pharmacy but something didn’t quite feel right, I wanted to make a positive change in someone’s health by helping them get to the root cause of their struggles, not just mask the symptoms. I changed gears in my education and graduated from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition in 2013.

Wanting to get a little more experience in the field of natural health, I started working at a health food store, where I soon rose to a management position.  After 4 years of dedicated work in the health food and supplement world, my mother’s business was expanding and she brought me on board to help her get settled. She founded Soap Making School and a natural soap and skincare company with a focus on organic and sustainable ingredients. Working there seemed like a natural progression, we often joked that she was working on beauty from the outside through her products, while I worked on beauty from the inside through nutrition.

I grew up around soap making and smelling like a different blend of essential oils depending on what my mom was making that day and I absolutely loved my time working with her, getting to create natural skincare and bath products and knowing exactly what went into them. I believe that was a big influence in what drew me to holistic nutrition, knowing exactly what was going in my body and how it would benefit me. My goal is to help people find a more balanced life by guiding them to make sustainable changes in nutrition and lifestyle.

I was recently diagnosed with Hashimoto’s, an autoimmune thyroid condition. My doctor put me on medication and said there was nothing else I could do to support my thyroid. But I knew from my background in nutrition that that wasn’t true. There are so many systems in the body that are affected by the thyroid, and so much that can be done to support the body through little changes in daily routines and nutrition.

I know how frustrating it can be to want to take your health into your own hands and being told to just wait and see or that there’s nothing else you can do. But it doesn’t have to be that way! I help people figure out the root cause of their health concerns so they can take the steps to feel better.

In 2022, I enrolled in the Professional Perinatal Nutrition Program and found my passion in fertility and preconception nutrition! There is so much we can do with nutrition and lifestyle factors to properly prepare the body for pregnancy and so many people aren’t told to do more than take a prenatal vitamin! The preconception stage is the best time to be reaching for more nutrient dense foods and ensuring we have enough stored nutrients to pass along for optimal pregnancy health.

I recently made the move from Vancouver to Victoria, BC with my partner and two cats and have been enjoying discovering what island life has to offer! I love travelling, experiencing new cultures and cuisines. I’m a bit of a foodie and try as many restaurants as I can around the city.
